This is my new favorite comfort food inspired by a recipe in the Old World Kitchen Cookbook inspired by peasantry cooking and the new book by Martha Stewart, One Pot. Brown high quality bacon, set aside, and pour off most of the fat. Sauté thinly sliced onion and cabbage. Cover with whole milk and cook down, covering with bacon before serving. So good.
